Noise

While some air conditioning systems are incredibly quiet, there are others which make a little bit more noise. For this reason, you need to consider the noise factor when it comes to the location of your system. Height

It’s not just the area of the house you need to consider when you’re planning to install your air conditioner, such as the bedroom or living area, you also need to think about the spot it will sit on the wall. It needs to sit high enough on the wall to compensate for the fact that cool air will sink to the bottom of the room. If it’s positioned too low, you won’t feel the full benefit. However, remember that you also need to maintain it, so don’t place it so high that it’s impossible to get to!

External unit

The external unit is generally placed on the outside wall of the room being cooled by the system but you need to ensure it’s in a stable spot with plenty of airflow. It also needs to be easily accessible for maintenance and preferably in an area which isn’t too prone to getting dirty. Also remember that your air conditioning system will have to work overtime if it’s exposed to direct sunlight, so a sheltered location is best.
